"DEBUT"

---------------------------------------------------------

After a career penning songs for other singers and co-writing with friends Alannah Myles and Colleen Peterson, Ontario native Nancy Simmonds has released her first CD, simply titled “Debut.”
A founding member of Prairie Oyster, Simmonds has spent the last couple years recording songs for dogs. Now, she’s turned her attention to showcasing her strong songwriting skills and vocal talents and deserves to be heard. The seductive “Hurry Make Love” was featured on Myles’ sophomore CD and “Just Like a Woman”, co-written with Peterson, was featured on Quartette’s “Work of the Heart.”
“Young Girls in the Field” is a nostalgic view of youth, “Mother’s Lullaby,” a haunting plea to a son involved with guns, while “The Night Hank Williams Died”, co-written with Myles, recalls the country legend. Simmonds has been classified as Folk-Rock, but “Debut” crosses musical boundaries. Check out her myspace page to hear some of the songs.
Released on the Joe Tucker label, “Debut” is also available on CD Universe.
