Hurry Make Love

Is It Possible?

Young Girls in the Field

Mother's Lullaby

Letting Go

Hey Now

She

The Night Hank Williams Died

Just Like a Woman

The Waiting Game

We stand alone against our fate
We bring our visions to create
For you who wish to make your claim
Welcome to the waiting game
This is the game, they call out your name
We pass through the flame to the waiting game.

I should have heard angels sing
Like you I was too fast to wing
I flew so high but all in vain
Landing in the waiting game
This is the game, they call out your name
We pass through the flame to the waiting game

From where I stand the path is clear
It seems my past has led me here
Open to you into the new
Passing through the waiting game
This is the game they call out your name
We pass through the flame to the waiting game

I know you've come with broken dreams
Lay down your pride the slate is clean
Send a wish and sign your name
Welcome to the waiting game
This is the game they call out your name
We pass through the flame to the waiting game

If I Were a Bird

If I could fly like a bird in the sky
If I could sing such a bold lullaby
I'd never have to touch the ground
I'd always be exactly where I'm bound
If I could fly then I'd be free
If I were a bird instead of me -

Sometimes I think I'm the only one
To hear the dove when it falls
Sometimes I feel I'm the slowest one
To listen to the wind when it calls

If I could fly on the strength of my wings
Never touch down in this suffering
Away up high I can't be hurt
Far above the crying of the earth
If I could fly then I'd free
If I were a bird instead of me
Oh instead of me

Hurry, Make Love

Don't leave me at home too long
Don't let me fall asleep unsewn
Don't stay up with that damn tv
Somebody else might make love to me

Hurry, hurry, hurry make love to me

I don't believe in lyin' low
Don't watch all of that dull grass grown
I don't believe in darnin' socks
Just believe in love talks -

Hurry, hurry, hurry make love to me

So don't leave me at home too long
Don't let me fall asleep unsewn
Don't stay up with the damn tv
Somebody else might make love to me

Hurry, hurry, hurry make love to me

Is It Possible?

Don't get me started on the past tonight
Don't give me no crystal ball
I'm comin' down from a bumpy flight
I need a little room to fall

Can't help the broken hearted
Can't make them feel alright
Just let me get my thing started
Let me stand in my own light

I've been running on nerves too thin
I've been riding on fragile dreams
I've been planting my own sweet garden
Pullin' out some nasty weeds

Can't help the broken hearted
Can't make them feel alright
Just let me get my thing started -
A little slice of my own life

After all I've been my heart is rusted
After all I've seen I just can't trust it

Is it possible (I need a little time that's all)
Is it possible (I need a little room to fall)

I feel a change I need some shifting
Move ahead and clear the track
Walk away, now something's lifting
Gonna take my spirit back

Can't help the broken hearted
Can't make them feel alright
Just let me get my thing started
Let me stand in my own light

It's gonna take my heart some time to feel it
And still more time til I reveal it

Is it possible (life is full of miracles)
Is it possible (I need a little time that's all
Is is possible (life is full of miracles)
Is it possible (I need a little room to fall)

Don't get me started on the past tonight
Don't give me no crystal ball.

Young Girls In The Field

Once we had innocence lost in a dream
Promises of love were never what they seemed
Our hearts were tender, we had to shield,
We were young girls in the field.

Once we were dreamers, we took so much
Then the winds of change blew over us
Our hearts were broken, our hearts could heal
We were young girls in the field

Oh yes, wouldn't it be nice to go back for a night?
With the starts in our eyes -

Photographs, jewelry, remnants of love
Is this the stuff that I am made of?
Sad songs of romance, contracts and deals,
Listen now to young girls in the field.

Oh yes, wouldn't it be nice to go back for a night?
With the stars in our eyes -

These days go so fast, I'm mean to start
Writing down the lessons of my heart
My friends we must leave, take what we yield
And leave a path for young girls in the field

Oh yes, wouldn't it be nice to go back for a night?
With the stars in our eyes -

Mother's Lullaby

This is a mother's lullaby
When you walk hold your head high
Don't go down to the old town, don't you cross that line
Nothin's worth the sorrow, nothin's worth the dyin'
Whatcha gonna do with that gun in your hands

When you come down 8th St. tonight
Don't you walk with that anger in your eyes
When you go through the old town fire's in the street
The struggle for power is bringin' down the heat
Whatcha gonna do with gun by your side

Are you gonna be an angel watchin' mama cry
Are you gonna be an angel watchin' babies die

This is a mother's lullaby
For my son and for his life
Don't forget how your mama held you on her knee
If they take your life, baby they take me

Whatcha gonna do with that gun by your side

Letting Go

She flies with a broken wing
With her blinders to the world
Back and forth she swings
Like a frightened little girl
But I feel my hands are tied
As I watch her face the wind and cry

Lost from her song, she calls
Lost from her love
Falling like a wounded swan
And letting go she is moving on.

Into the night she fades
Like the flight of a broken arrow
Just trying to have faith
In some beautiful tomorrow
But I feel I can't do a thing
But watch that bird as she takes to wing -

Lost from her song, she calls
Lost from her love,
Falling like a wounded swan
And letting go, she is moving on.

Hey Now

I'm gonna brush that soot off my back again
Every time they think I'm down I stand
Hey now, hey now, here I am

Cause I surprise 'em with one more round
I come back like the toast of the town
Hey now, hey now, homeward bound

I tell you of my enemies
Well they aint nothin' more than dirty fleas
I'm gonna be the best I can be
Just watch me -

Well it's one foot in front of the last
Pretty soon I'm moving from the past
Hey now, hey now, what a gas

I tell you of my enemies
Well they aint nothin' more than dirty fleas
I'm gonna be the best I can be
Just watch me -

Cause nobody can hurt me long
I reinvent myself in a song
Hey now, hey now, movin' on

I'll brush that soot off my back again
Every time they think I'm down, I stand
Hey now, hey now here I am
Hey now, hey now here I am -

She

My mother comes to me in dreams the place where she knows me
We wander down paths of green that heal the lonely

She - is calling, she - from her world
She - is fading back into a little girl

My mother speaks to me in dreams but cannot hear my answer
A million miles away from me a solitary dancer

She - is calling, she- from her world
She - is fading back into a little girl

All the colors of the sea just like a rainbow
And all that she taught me leaves me in her shadow
She -

My mother's standing in the fog beautiful and pure
Now only I can speak to God and take this prayer for her

She - is calling she- from her world
She is fading back into a little girl.

The Night Hank Williams Died

That reminds me of a story, the night Hank Williams died -
Sittin' in the back of a limo, he said, "problem is, Minnie, I can't see the light".
I remember the photographs, a legend gone too fast
New Year's Eve they found him slumped over in his Cadillac

But tonight down here in the valley
Beneath the starry sky
I don't know why this wine brings back
The night Hank Williams died

They say he has a daughter left by his mama's side,
He never meant her to suffer but she vanished when his mama died
And today I read the papers where she proved her daddy's name
Claimed a piece of history and sings his songs again,

But tonight down here in the valley
Beneath the starry sky
I don't know why this wine brings back
The night Hank Williams died

They say he would have loved her to hear her sing so good
Now she's writing books and moving on, that's all I understood,
And the sun shone when they found him at the end of a lonely ride,
I don't know why this wine brings back the night Hank Williams died -

But tonight down here in the valley
Beneath the starry night
I don't know why this wine brings back
The night Hank Williams died
No I don't know why this wine brings back
The night Hank Williams died

Just Like a Woman

When I was young learning to play
I remember boys and the games they made.
I told secrets to a falling star
When I grow up I'll never give my heart.
Never give my heart.

Winds of change blew my innocence away
Made a woman from a child as every season changed
I fell into a sea of love
And just like a woman I cannot get enough.

I left home and my mama cried, child,
There is danger when you're runnin' wild.
There're many choices so take your time
You're a woman now and you can change you mind
You can change your mind.

Sweet temptations keep on comin' round
Lord knows I tried and I tried to settle down
I keep searchin' for perfect love
And just like a woman I cannot get enough.

I keep searchin' for perfect love
And just like a woman I cannot get enough.
